Stage Door Theatre Group, Downe (SDTG) was established in December 2003 and held its first drama session on 13th January 2004 at Keston Church Hall. The first session involved drama games and songs. There were around 35-40 young people, most of whom continued to attend the weekly sessions.

The group was established to provide regular theatre/drama activities for young people in Downe Village and soon began to attract members from around the Bromley Borough.

Originally the group was named Young Downe Arounders as it was closely affiliated to the Downe Arounders, a dramatic society established in 1976. The group changed its name and became independant in 2004.

SDTG is open to any young person aged 7 - 17 years. Sessions are normally held on Sunday evenings. SDTG produces one major production each season with smaller events at other times. We also arrange trips and regularly hold fundraising events in the community to raise money for the group. SDTG is non-profit and not funded by local government, relying solely on membership subscription, and fundraising events.

All adult volunteers are holders of CRB disclosure certificates.
